The seasons have made a full turning, and it has been far too long since I last wrote here. My last post was in November. Apparently, writing letters does not automatically make one a diligent blogger.
There has been plenty happening behind the scenes. Rowendrey’s first year has unfolded through its letters, and Year Two is now in full swing. Alongside the writing have come the practical tasks of choosing materials, preparing inserts, printing, folding, assembling, and getting everything into the post. Each envelope represents rather more work than its size might suggest.
There have been trials and tribulations along the way. Some ideas have worked beautifully. Others have required a return to the workbench. The gift boxes have been receiving attention too, and I’m pleased to finally share photographs of the latest ones. Their contents will remain mostly a surprise. There should be something left to discover when you open one.
Through all of this, I have had people willing to read, offer their thoughts, and encourage me to keep going.
My particular thanks go to my beta readers, without whom I could not have properly gauged the materials and tempo of the story. Your honest responses helped me understand how the letters were being received, where the story needed room to breathe, and where something needed another look.
To my subscribers, both those who have been here from the beginning and those newly arriving, thank you for being part of the Rowendrey journey. It is a pleasure to know that something taking shape at my desk will eventually be opened at yours.
A full turning of the seasons is behind us. There is much more ahead.
